Surveying in Kent.

Kent is where the South East builds at scale. The county's strategic land allocations, Ebbsfleet Garden City, Medway waterfront and the expanding logistics corridor along the M2 and M20 generate earthworks volumes and programme durations that a single-person survey operation simply cannot service. That is where we fit: we resource multi-engineer setting out teams for piling rigs, formation levels, drainage runs and roadway construction on sites that run continuously for twelve to thirty-six months.

Our topographical survey teams in Kent work on everything from 500-unit garden-community masterplan parcels to 20 ha logistics parks that need finished-floor-level accuracy across a network of warehouses. Fieldwork combines Leica GS18 T tilt-compensated GNSS with Trimble S9 robotics for hard detail, and DJI Matrice 350 drone capture for large earthworks platforms where ground coverage is the priority. The output is a fully attributed 3D DWG, Revit or LandXML model with a coordinated control summary the contractor can build from.

For Thames-side regeneration and infrastructure schemes in Dartford, Gravesend and the Medway towns, we also deploy structural monitoring — protecting Network Rail assets, listed buildings and highway structures with Leica TM60 ATS, tilt sensors and crack metres on a GeoMoS Now! cloud dashboard with SMS alerting to the response team.

Projects we deliver in Kent.

  • Earthworks

    Large-scale earthworks & formation levels

Multi-engineer setting out for cut-and-fill operations, formation levels, drainage falls and sub-base construction on strategic housing and logistics sites along the M2 and M20 corridors.

  • Logistics

    Warehouse & logistics park construction

Topographical surveys and setting out for floor-slab, steel-frame and cladding-line positions on distribution centres and fulfilment hubs — typically 10,000 to 100,000 sq ft footprints requiring finished-floor-level tolerance.

  • Regeneration

    Thames-side & Ebbsfleet regeneration

Control networks, setting out and monitoring for mixed-use regeneration and garden-community schemes along the Thames estuary — often with complex ground conditions and third-party asset constraints.

Why teams in Kent work with us.

The differences are practical, not marketing. Here's what Kent clients tell us they value.

  • Multi-engineer teams resourced for 12 to 36-month programmes
  • Earthworks-grade GNSS machine-control survey support
  • Drone photogrammetry for large-platform progress tracking
  • Integrated PAS 128 utility detection before excavation
  • Same-day as-built deviation reports colour-coded against design
  • Experienced on tier-one contractor QA regimes (BAM, Mace, McLaren)

Kent survey FAQs.

Can you resource a setting out team for a 24-month programme?
Yes. We routinely provide resident and visiting setting out engineers on long-programme Kent sites. Resourcing is agreed at contract stage, and we maintain a back-up engineer to cover holidays and sickness so the programme never loses a survey day.
Do you have experience with earthworks-level setting out?
Earthworks is one of our core outputs. We set out formation levels, sub-base profiles, drainage inverts and embankment toe lines using robotic total stations and GNSS rovers, and we can provide machine-control models in Trimble or Leica format for GPS-guided plant.
How do you handle large logistics sites that need same-day coverage?
On large-footprint sites (10+ ha) we deploy two-person teams with parallel GNSS and total-station capture, or DJI M350 drone photogrammetry for earthworks progress surveys. The key is planning capture around the live plant programme so the survey never becomes the programme blocker.
What areas of Kent do you cover?
All of it — from Dartford and the Medway towns through to Maidstone, Ashford, Canterbury and the coast. Our typical mobilisation window for a Kent site is 48 hours from instruction.
